BGCNJ’s 15th Annual Concert for Kids Event was a Great Success.

On November 8, 2017, the Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey celebrated an inspirational evening at the 15th Annual Concert for Kids event filled with moving stories from Club youth about how Boys & Girls Clubs have had a life-changing impact on transforming their lives.
Recognized at the event were the 2017-18 New Jersey Youth of the Year finalist, Malachi D. from the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield, and New Jersey Military Youth of the Year finalist, Victor O., from the McGuire Youth Program, for their extraordinary stories of hope and achievement. Both Youth of the Year state finalists exemplify the true Boys & Girls Club values of leadership, service, academic excellence and healthy lifestyles. There was also an outstanding vocal performance by 12-year-old Club member, Tatyana O., from the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Newark Ironbound.
Ignazio Giuffre, representing the BRAM Auto Group, was honored for serving as a champion of NJ Club youth. In addition, Ignazio was recognized for his unprecedented and generous commitment of $40,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey’s Concert for Kids event. The 15th Annual Concert for Kids raised more than $130,000. The proceeds from this event will be used to support the Boys & Girls Clubs in NJ’s State Network of 23 local Boys & Girls Club organizations serving over 70,000 youth throughout the Garden State.
Comedian Joe Piscopo, BGCNJ’s long-standing celebrity spokesperson, served as Master of Ceremonies. Nick Miceli, Market President, TD Bank, served as Event Chairman, along with Event Vice Chairs, Christopher Tropiano from BRAM Auto Group, Ann Burke from Wakefern Food Corporation, Sally Phipps from Colgate-Palmolive Company for their support of Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey.

Following the reception and program, guests enjoyed a sensational performance at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center featuring Chris Botti and friends. Chris is the world’s best-selling jazz instrumentalist, master trumpeter and Grammy award winner for “Best Pop Instrumental Album,” and has four #1 albums on Billboard’s Jazz Albums listing.
