The Boys & Girls Club of Clifton recently announced an extension on their before and after school programs at 4 additional school sites, bringing them to a total of 15 local sites.  Since 1992, the Boys & Girls Club of Clifton had been operating after school programs at in Clifton schools.  Starting this fall, the Club will extend their services to 4 additional Clifton schools – school #2, #3, #5, and #13 – offering both before and after school programs at all new locations and adding a before school program at 7 of the existing sites.

Throughout the year, the Club provides more than 950 students in grades 1st – 8th a safe haven to come after school to be cared for while their parents are working.  The school programs extend the Club’s mission of providing programs and services in a safe, supervised environment, to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as caring, productive and responsible citizens. The school programs build self-confidence and provide a sense of support essential in the education and growth of America’s youth.

The extension of before and after school programs strive to impact young people by providing them with a safe, positive place to learn and grow and a happy childhood with fun essential to the Club experience.  An ongoing relationship with caring adults helps inculcate high expectations and recognition that affirm the intrinsic value, success and accomplishments of young people.

At the 4 new sites, an additional 300 youth will be served after school providing students with opportunities to engage in life-enhancing programs and character development experiences, including weekly trips to the bowling alley, movie theatre, and swimming at the Club. With the before school program being implemented at the 7 sites, an additional 150 youth members will be served in the mornings.  While the Boys & Girls Club of Clifton is thrilled to serve more students, this opportunity also allows schools to redirect their resources to their preschool programs, signifying that this is a partnership that builds capacity on both ends.

The after school registration begins on August 15th with the option to register online or in person.  To find out more information on before and after school programs, refer to the Clifton Club’s website here
